Additional fuel-powered heater — removal and installation

Withdrawal


1. Remove the air filter housing.
  • 1. Disconnect the air cleaner intake hose going to the engine.
  • 2. Disconnect the air intake temperature sensor connector (IAT).
  • 3. Disconnect the vacuum line.
  • Detach the air filter housing from above.



2. Disconnect the fuse box and place it on the side. Turn out a bolt.



3. Disconnect the fuse box and place it on the side (continuation).
  • Release the fuse box (two clamps).



4. Disconnect the EGR shut-off valve.


  • 1. Disconnect the connector.
  • 2. Remove the screws.
  • Disconnect vacuum hoses if necessary.



5. Release the fuel line from the auxiliary heater fuel pump.



6. Disunite a socket of an additional heater.

NOTE: Shut off the cooling system.


Disconnect the coolant hoses. Release the hose clamps.

NOTE: Shut off the cooling system.


Disconnect coolant hoses (continuation). Release the hose clamp.



9. Raise the car. See Section 100-02 for more information.

10. Disconnect the motor protection. Remove nine bolts.



11. Release the exhaust pipe.



12. Remove the exhaust pipe and air intake hose. Release two clamps.




13. Remove the additional heater. Remove two nuts (one is shown).



14. Lower the car.

15. Remove additional heater (continuation). Loosen the nut.

NOTE: Lower the additional heater down in the sequence shown.


Lower the auxiliary heater down.



17. Raise the vehicle.


18. Remove an additional heater from below.



Installation


1. Replace the elements in reverse order.

2. Check and, if necessary, correct the coolant level. See Section 303-03 for more information.

3. Check the correct operation of the auxiliary heater. Perform diagnostics using the FDS 2000 if necessary.
