Heater core — removal and installation

Special tool

Coolant Hose Clamp Remover/Installer 303-397 (24-003)

Withdrawal

1. Drain the coolant from the cooling system. See Section 303-03 for more information.

2. Using the special tool, disconnect the coolant hoses from the heater core.



3. Lower the car.

4. Remove the floor console. See Section 501-12 for more information.

5. Remove the rear footwell ventilation ducts.



6. Remove the lower footwell trim panel.




7. Open the glove compartment.

8. Remove the footwell ventilation duct. Disconnect the hose.



9. Close the glove compartment.

10. Remove the footwell trim panel.

• Loosen the left and right fixing screws (right side shown).

11. Remove the accelerator pedal. Disconnect the electrical connector.

NOTE: Be careful not to damage the seat when removing the clip.

Detach the rear steel clip.



13. Remove the left and right bracket of the inner cross beam (right side shown).



14. Remove the air duct housing of the heater core.



15. Remove the heater case.




16. Turn out a bolt of fastening of a core of a heater.



17. Remove the heater core.

Installation

1. To install, follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
