Turbine shaft speed sensor (TSS)

Withdrawal

1. Remove the battery tray. Refer to Section 414-01 for more information.

2. Remove the air filter housing.

• 1. Disconnect the plug connector of the mass air flow sensor (MAF).
• 2. Disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose.
• 3. Disconnect the air filter outlet hose.
• Remove the air filter housing from the rubber bushings.

NOTE: The resonator is inserted into the bracket.

Remove the air filter intake hose along with the resonator.



4. Disconnect the plug connector of the turbine shaft speed sensor (TSS)



5. Remove the TSS sensor.

• Check the hole for the TSS sensor.
• Check the O-ring for cracks or cuts and install a new O-ring if necessary.

Installation

1.

NOTE: Apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly to the O-ring before installing it.

NOTE: Apply thread sealant to the bolt.

Reinstall the elements in reverse order.
