NOTE: Check if the shift lever is in neutral position.
Disconnect the shift lever boot and trim from the center console.
Vehicles manufactured up to 10.2001
2. Raise the vehicle. See Section 100-02 for more information.
3. Disconnect the blocking insert of the shift/selection cable adjustment mechanism.
- Insert the orange insert into the adjustment mechanism.
4. Lower the car.

NOTE: The special tool is yellow.
Lock the shift lever using the special tool.
- 1. Pull the reverse gear lock up.
- 2. Insert special tool.
6. Rotate the special tool approximately 45 degrees clockwise to lock the shift mechanism.
7. Raise the vehicle. See Section 100-02 for more information.

NOTE: The shift/select levers are in the neutral position when they are vertical.
Place shift/gear select lever in neutral position (shift cables not shown).

NOTE: Make sure the orange insert returns to the locked position.
Adjust the shift cable. Press the clamp on the adjusting mechanism.

NOTE: Make sure the orange insert returns to the locked position.
Adjust the selector cable. Press the clamp on the adjusting mechanism.
11. Lower the car.
12. Turn the special tool counterclockwise 45 degrees to unlock the shift mechanism.
13. Remove the special tool.

14. Raise the vehicle. See Section 100-02 for more information.

NOTE: Press the shift cable lock buttons.
Disconnect the shift cables from the gearbox.
- 1. Disconnect the shift cable from the base of the shift mechanism.
- 2. Disconnect the gear select cable from the select lever.
16. Disconnect the blocking insert of the shift/selection cable adjustment mechanism.
17. Lower the car.

NOTE: The special tool is red.
Lock the shift lever using the special tool.
- 1. Pull the reverse gear lock up.
- 2. Insert special tool.
19. Rotate the special tool approximately 45 degrees clockwise to lock the shift mechanism.
20. Raise the vehicle. See Section 100-02 for more information.

NOTE: Third gear is engaged when the corner piece is parallel to the base plate as shown (shift cables not shown).
Engage third gear.

NOTE: The selector cable is black marked.
Connect the selector cable to the selector lever. Press the lock button.

NOTE: Make sure the orange insert returns to the locked position.
Adjust the selector cable. Click on the orange insert in the adjustment mechanism.
24. Move the transmission to neutral.

NOTE: The shift cable is marked white.
Connect the shift cable to the base of the shift mechanism. Click on the lock button.

NOTE: Make sure the orange insert returns to the lock position.
Adjust the shift cable. Click on the orange insert in the adjustment mechanism.
27. Lower the car.
28. Turn the special tool counterclockwise 45 degrees to unlock the shift mechanism.
29. Remove the special tool.
- 1. Pull the reverse gear lock up.
- 2. Disconnect the special tool.
All cars
30. Install the shift lever boot and trim to the center console.
