Radiator (1.6L Duratec) — removal and installation

Special tool

Coolant hose clamp remover/installer 303-397 (24-003)

Withdrawal

1. Remove the electric cooling fan. For more information, refer to the Electric Cooling Fan - 1.6L Duratec chapter available in this section.

2. Drain the coolant from the cooling system. For more information, refer to the chapter Draining/Filling Coolant and Bleeding Air from the Cooling System found in this section.

3. Remove the radiator mudguard.



4. Using suitable clamps, hang the air conditioning condenser (A/C).



5. Disconnect the A/C capacitor from the radiator.



6. Using the special tool, disconnect the upper radiator hose.



7. Using the special tool, disconnect the radiator hoses.



8. Turn out bolts of fastening of a basic arm of a radiator.

NOTE: Support the radiator.

Remove the radiator support bracket.



10. Remove the radiator.

Installation

1. Replace the elements in reverse order.
