Thermostat housing (Duratec ST 2.0 l) — removal and installation

Special tool

Coolant hose clamp remover/installer 303-397 (24-003)

Withdrawal

1. Drain the coolant from the cooling system. For more information, refer to the chapter Draining/Filling Coolant and Bleeding Air from the Cooling System found in this section.

2. Remove the ignition coil cover.

• 1.Remove the clips.
• 2.Release the coolant line from the clamp.

3. Using the special tool, disconnect the cooling system hoses from the thermostat housing.



4. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector (ECT).



5. Turn out bolts of fastening of the case of the thermostat.



6. Using the special tool, disconnect the coolant hose from the thermostat housing and remove the thermostat housing.



7. Remove the O-ring and discard it as no longer needed.

Installation

1.

NOTE: Install a new O-ring.

Reinstall the elements in reverse order.

2. Fill the cooling system. For more information, refer to the chapter Draining/Filling Coolant and Bleeding Air from the Cooling System found in this section.
