Thermostat (1.8L/2.0L/1.6L Zetec-E) — removal and installation

Withdrawal

1. Drain the coolant from the cooling system. For more information, refer to the chapter Draining/Filling Coolant and Bleeding Air from the Cooling System found in this section.

2. Disconnect the coolant hoses.



3. Turn out bolts of a cover of the thermostat.



4. Remove the thermostat.



5. Remove the rubber seal and discard as no longer needed.

Installation

1.

NOTE: Install a new rubber seal.

Reinstall the elements in reverse order.



2. Fill the cooling system. For more information, refer to the chapter Draining/Filling Coolant and Bleeding Air from the Cooling System found in this section.
