NOTE: Measure the oil pressure at the prescribed engine speed. Measure the oil pressure at an oil temperature of 80°C.
Oil pressure check (engine 1.4/1.6 Zetec - SE)
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Disconnect the oil pressure switch connector and remove the oil pressure switch.
3. Connect a pressure gauge with the appropriate pressure gauge adapter and position it so that the reading can be read from above.
4. Lower the car.
5. Check oil pressure.
6. Raise and secure the vehicle.
7. Disconnect the oil pressure gauge and adapter.
8. Apply oil pressure switch sealant to the oil pressure switch (WSK-M2G349-A7).
9. Install the oil pressure switch and dock the plug connector of the oil pressure switch.
10. Lower the car.
Oil pressure check (engine 1.8/2.0 Zetec - E)
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Disconnect the oil pressure switch connector and remove the oil pressure switch.
3. Connect a pressure gauge with the appropriate pressure gauge adapter and position it so that the reading can be read from above.
4. Lower the car.
5. Check oil pressure.
6. Raise and support the vehicle.
7. Disconnect the oil pressure gauge and adapter.
8. Apply oil pressure switch sealant to the oil pressure switch (WSK-M2G349-A7).
9. Install the oil pressure switch and dock the plug connector of the oil pressure switch.
10. Lower the car.
Oil pressure measurement (1.8L Endura DI engine and Duratorq TDCi)
1. Remove the engine top cover.
2. Remove the positive crankcase ventilation housing (PCV).
3. Disconnect the plug connector of the oil pressure switch.
4. Remove the oil pressure switch.
5. Connect the oil pressure gauge to the pressure gauge adapter.
note: Measure the oil pressure at the crankshaft speed corresponding to the idle mode and at 2000 rpm.
6. Check oil pressure.
7. Disconnect the oil gauge and oil gauge adapter.
8. Install an oil pressure switch.
9. Connect the plug connector of the oil pressure switch.
10. Install the PCV housing.
11. Install the engine top cover.
