Withdrawal
1. Remove the oil pump. For more information, refer to the Oil Pump chapter available in this section.
2. Lower the car.
3. Remove the cylinder head cover. For more information, refer to the Cylinder Head Cover chapter available in this section.

CAUTION: The engine should only be turned in the normal direction of rotation of the crankshaft.
NOTE: The timing mark on the camshaft sprocket must be in position "12 hours".
NOTE: Note the position of the timing chain.
Rotate the engine until the #1 piston is at top dead center (w.m.t.).
5. Remove the hydraulic timing chain tensioner.
6. Using the special tool, remove the camshaft sprocket.
7. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Section 100-02 for more information.
8. Remove the timing chain tensioner lever.
9. Remove the timing chain and crankshaft sprocket.
Installation
1.
NOTE: The crankshaft sprocket alignment mark must be in position "6 hours".
Install the crankshaft sprocket.
2.
NOTE: The timing mark on the crankshaft sprocket and the single color-coded timing chain link must be opposite each other.
Install the timing chain.
3. Install the timing chain tensioner lever.
4. Lower the car.

NOTE: The timing mark on the camshaft sprocket must be in position "12 hours".
NOTE: The timing mark on the camshaft sprocket and the marked links on the timing chain must be opposite each other.
Install the camshaft sprocket and timing chain.
6. Using the special tool, tighten the camshaft sprocket mounting bolt.
7. Install the hydraulic timing chain tensioner.
8. Install the oil pump. For more information, refer to the Oil Pump chapter available in this section.
9. Install the cylinder head cover. For more information, refer to the Cylinder Head Cover chapter available in this section.
