The iB5 manual transmission in the Focus is equipped with a cable shift mechanism.
The shift cable is marked in white, the gear selector cable is marked in black.
To disconnect the cables from the gearbox and the gear lever, turn both sections of the support ring counterclockwise. Because the shift and select cables use the same bushing through which they pass through the floor, they should only be replaced in pairs.
The gearshift mechanism is adjusted using a 3 mm drill bit inserted into the gearshift lever and a gear selector cable on the gearbox. The shift cable cannot be adjusted.
