Gearshift control shaft seal

General equipment:
  • Ring wrench 16 mm
  • Screwdriver

Withdrawal


1. Engage third gear.

2. Raise the vehicle. See Section 100-02 for more information.

3. Open the shift and select cable cover.



4. Disconnect shift cables and gear selection.
  • Disconnect the shift and select cables from the shift and select levers and by turning the support rings clockwise release them from the brackets.



5. Remove a cover of cables of switching and a choice of transfers.



6. Remove the shift lever.


  • 1. Remove the protective cover and clip.
  • 2. Remove the shift lever.



7. Remove the select lever along with the dust cover.



8. Remove the gear selection shaft oil seal. A screwdriver is used for this operation.
  • Remove dirt and rust from the selector shaft.



Installation


1. Remove the dust cap from the new oil seal.


2.
CAUTION: After installing the oil seal, there must be no adhesive tape left under the oil seal lip.


NOTE: To protect the oil seal from damage caused by sharp edges and burrs in the bore and ring groove, wrap the selector shaft with thin adhesive tape.


Install the selector shaft oil seal. A 16 mm socket is used.
  • Replace the dust cover.



3. Install the select lever.



4. Install shift lever.
  • 1. Insert shift lever.
  • 2. Insert clip and install protective cover.



5. Establish a cover of cables of switching and a choice of transfers.




6. Install shift and select cables.
  • Install the shift and select cables to their respective brackets, securing them by turning the support bushings clockwise. Then connect the cables to the shift and select levers.



7. Close the shift and select cable cover.



8. Lower the car.
