Withdrawal
1.
NOTE: Use a hex socket wrench to hold the piston rod.
Loosen the left suspension strut nut five turns (right side shown).
2. Remove the left front wheel. See Section 204-04 for more information.
3.
CAUTION: Be careful not to damage the cover.
Disconnect the lower control arm from the steering knuckle (right side shown with wheel installed).

CAUTION: Support axle shaft. The inner hinge should not be tilted more than 18 degrees. External hinge - at an angle exceeding 45 degrees.
Using the special tool, disconnect the axle shaft from the gearbox and secure it aside.
- Collect the oil in a suitable container.
- Discard the snap ring as it is no longer needed.
5. Remove the left front half shaft from the gearbox and tie it using the collars.
6. Remove the front axle oil seal.
Installation
1. General notes:
- Install new self-locking nuts and spring rings.
2. Install the front axle oil seal.
- Insert the seal up to the stop.

CAUTION: Support axle shaft. The inner hinge should not be tilted more than 18 degrees. External hinge - at an angle exceeding 45 degrees.
CAUTION: Use the mounting sleeve (comes with every oil seal), to protect the oil seal when installing the front axle shaft.
CAUTION: Make sure the snap ring is installed correctly.
NOTE: Secure the tripod joint assembly.
Establish a half shaft on a transmission.

CAUTION: Be careful not to damage the covers.
Install the lower control arm to the steering knuckle (the figure shows the right side with the wheel installed).

NOTE: The fill level should be 0-5mm below the bottom edge of the filler hole.
Check the transmission fluid level. Use transmission fluid to top up if needed.
6. Install the left front wheel. See Section 204-04 for more information.
7.
NOTE: Use a hex socket wrench to hold the piston rod.
Tighten the suspension strut nut.
- Hold using a socket wrench.
- Tighten by hand with a ring wrench.
- Tighten to the prescribed torque using a torque wrench.
