Replacing the power window of the front door

The front door windows are electrically operated. This subsection describes only the removal and installation of the power window directly. Removal and installation of the power window control unit and gearmotor are described in Sec. 10 «electrical equipment» (see «Replacing the control unit for power windows and electric mirrors»; «Replacing the front door power window gearmotor»).

You will need: key «on 10», flat blade screwdriver.

1. Remove the front door upholstery (cm. «Removal and installation of an upholstery of a forward door»).

2. Remove the front door glass (cm. «Front door glass replacement»).

NOTE: It is not necessary to remove the glass from the door, it is enough to disconnect it from the power window and fix it in the highest position, for example, using a screwdriver, pieces of PVC pipe of a suitable diameter or masking tape.

3. Prying with a screwdriver..



4.... push the cuff of the lock cable seal into the door..




5.... and three seal holders.



6. Squeeze the clamps of the power window wiring harness block..



7.... and disconnect the block from the gearmotor.



8. Remove the rear from the openings of the power window base..




9.... and front wiring harness seals.

10. Remove the inner handle of the front door lock drive (cm. «Replacement of the internal handle of a drive of the lock of a forward door»).

NOTE: It is necessary to remove the inner handle in order to disconnect the lock cable from it, passed through the hole in the power window base.

11. Turn out ten bolts of fastening of the basis of a window regulator to the panel of a door …



12.... and take the power window away from the door.




13. Disconnect the wiring harness block from the door lock by squeezing its latches.



14. Remove the exterior mirror wiring harness block from the holder on the corner trim and remove the trim..

NOTE: The corner trim was removed during the glass removal process. If the glass has not been removed, disconnect it from the door panel (see paragraphs. 3 and 4 «Front door glass replacement»).

15.... squeeze the latches..




16.... and disconnect the block.



17. Remove the wire harness holders from the holes in the door panel and power window base and remove the power window, passing the harnesses into the technological holes in its base.
