Replacing the rear door lock

You will need: TORX T20 and T30 wrenches.

1. Remove the back door upholstery (cm. «Removal and installation of an upholstery of a back door»).

2. Remove the inner rear door lock handle (cm. «Replacing the inner handle of the tailgate lock actuator»).

NOTE: It is necessary to remove the inner handle because it is difficult to disconnect the drive cable from the lock installed on the door. It is more convenient to remove the lock together with the cable, and to disconnect the cable from the handle, you need to remove it.


3. Remove the rear door window regulator (cm. «Replacing the power window rear door»).

4. Remove the outer rear door handle (cm. «Rear Door Exterior Handle Replacement»).



5. Disconnect from the lock block of a plait of wires.



6. Remove the three screws securing the lock to the door panel in the middle..




7.... and the lower parts of its butt.



8. Remove the outer handle front seal..



9.... remove the screw securing the lock to the outer panel of the door..



10.... and remove the lock by pulling it out through the technological hole in the door panel.




11. If it is necessary to replace the lock or the cable of its drive, use a screwdriver to separate the two retainers of the cable sheath stop..



12.... remove the sheath stop from the holder..



13.... turn the tip of the cable until its triangular mustache matches the slot in the lock lever..




14.... and, removing the finger of the tip from the hole in the lever, remove the cable.



15. For removal of a latch of the lock of a back door turn out two screws of its fastening to a rack of a body and remove a latch.

16. Establish the lock of a back door and all removed details in an order, the return to removal.



NOTE: If necessary, adjust the tightness of the lock by moving the latch in a vertical or horizontal direction, loosening its tightening.
