Removal and installation of a shock-absorber rack

You will need: keys «on 10», «at 13», «at 15», chisel, hammer.

1. Brake the vehicle with the parking brake and set the wheel chocks («shoes») under the rear wheels.

2. Remove the air box grille and plenum plate (cm. «Removal and installation of the grille of the air supply box and the drain shield»).



3. Remove the wheel.



4. Remove the brake hose from the bracket on the strut.



5. Disconnect from an arm of a shock-absorber rack the top hinge of a rack of the stabilizer (cm. «Replacing parts of the front suspension anti-roll bar»).




6. Loosen..



7.... and unscrew the bolt of the terminal connection of the steering knuckle and shock absorber strut.



8. Using a chisel and a hammer, open the terminal connection..



9. …and lubricate with penetrating lubricant such as WD-40 or equivalent.




10. Turn off two nuts of fastening of a spacer to a car body …



11.... Remove the three shock absorber mounting bolts..



12.... and remove the spacer.

NOTE: When removing the right upright..

NOTE:...remove the three bolts..

NOTE:...and remove the reinforcement ring.

NOTE: 13. Separate the strut and knuckle..

NOTE: Do not over-tighten the brake hose to avoid damaging it.

14.... and remove the shock absorber.

15. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.

NOTE: After replacing the front suspension strut or parts, check and adjust the wheel alignment if necessary (cm. «Checking and adjusting wheel alignment»). Use the services of workshops with special equipment.
