NOTE: Steering column assembly can be removed with or without ignition switch (depending on the purpose of removing the steering column). This subsection describes the removal of the steering column with the removal of the ignition switch.
You will need: key «on 10», end heads «on 10», «at 13», extension cord, piston puller.
1. Disconnect the wire from the terminal «minus» battery.
2. Remove the steering column cover (cm. «Removal and installation of a casing of a steering column»).
3. Remove the steering wheel (cm. «Removal and installation of a steering wheel»), having previously set it to a position corresponding to rectilinear movement.
4. Remove the steering column switches assembly with the connector (cm. «Replacing paddle shifters»).
5. Remove the ignition switch (see «Removal and installation of the switch (castle) ignition»).
6. Remove the instrument cluster (cm. «Removal and installation of a combination of devices»).
7. Remove the decorative dashboard panel (cm. «Removal and installation of the instrument panel»).
8. Under the instrument panel, open the harness holder and remove the harness from it.
9. Disconnect the holder of the wiring harness from the steering column with a clip remover..
10.... and take the tourniquet to the side.
11. Turn out a bolt of terminal connection of a shaft of a steering column with a steering shaft.
12. Unscrew the two bottom..
13.... and two upper steering column mounting screws...
14.... then remove the steering column by disconnecting the column shaft and the steering shaft.
NOTE: Replacement of the steering column bracket is described in subsection «Removal and installation of the instrument panel».
15. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
