Removal and installation of the switch (lock) of ignition

Switch (lock) ignition is mounted on the steering column and secured with two bolts with self-tapping heads, therefore, to replace it, it is necessary to remove the bolts with a chisel or drill them out with an electric drill. Switch (lock) ignition can be changed without removing the steering column, but for convenience, you can remove it (cm. «Removal and installation of a steering column»).

You will need: pliers (better welding clamp), chisel, hammer, flat blade screwdriver.

1. Disconnect the wire from the terminal «minus» battery.



2. Remove the steering column switches assembly with connector (cm. «Replacing paddle shifters»).



3. Press the retainer of the immobilizer antenna unit with a screwdriver..




4.... move the block aside..



5.... squeeze the pad retainer..



6.... disconnect the block from the block and remove the immobilizer antenna block.

7. Squeeze the latch and disconnect the wiring harness block from the contact group of the switch, see. «Replacing the contact group of the switch (castle) ignition».




8. Turn out the right bolt of fastening of the switch, putting blows by a hammer through a chisel on a tangent counter-clockwise.



9. Welding clamp (or pliers) unscrew the left mounting bolt..



10.... and remove the switch (lock) ignition assembly with a contact group.

11. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
