Spark plugs are used on Ford Focus II car engines with a working volume of 1.4–1.8 litersNGK ITR6F13 (Motorcraft AGFS22IPG), and on engines with a working volume of 2.0 l - NGK TRGAP13 (Motorcraft AGPS22F13J). As a substitute for engines with a working volume of 1.6 liters, spark plugs can be used BRISK RR15YС1 or DENCO PT16VR13. The gap between the electrodes of the candles is 0.7–0.8 mm.
1. Remove the tip of the high-voltage wire from the candle being replaced.
2. Blow out the spark plug wells with compressed air to prevent dirt from entering the engine cylinder when the spark plug is removed.
3. Remove spark plug..
4.... and remove it from the candle well.
NOTE: Inspect the spark plug and evaluate its condition by appearance (cm. «Diagnostics of the engine condition by the appearance of spark plugs»).
5. Check the gap between the spark plug electrodes with a round feeler gauge. It should be 0.7–0.8 mm.
6. If the gap differs from the specified value, adjust it by bending the side electrode.
WARNING: Adjust the gap only by bending the ground electrode. Any bending of the center electrode will break the spark plug insulator.
7. When installing spark plugs, screw them in first by hand (without collar), and then tighten with a wrench.
