Removal and installation of the clutch pedal

            0

The clutch pedal is removed for replacement if there is a creak, seizing or increased play, as well as if the return spring is damaged.

You will need: socket head «at 13», sliding pliers, flat blade screwdriver.

NOTE: For clarity, operation is shown with the instrument panel and steering column bracket removed.

1. Remove the cruise control switch from the pedal bracket (cm. «Replacing Cruise Control Switches»).

NOTE: Since the clutch pedal is being removed for replacement, the cruise control switch will need to be moved to the new pedal. For convenience, it is better to remove it directly on the car.

2. Disconnect the harness holder from the pedal bracket and move the harness to the side.

3. Use a screwdriver to push the two latches into the grooves of the pedal (the second latch is located on the opposite side of the pedal and is not visible in the photo) fork of a pusher of a drive of deenergizing of coupling.

4. Having grasped the flange of the master cylinder of the clutch release drive with sliding pliers, turn the cylinder counterclockwise by about 60°until the protrusions on its flange coincide with the cutouts in the hole in the pedal bracket.

5. Remove the four nuts that secure the clutch pedal bracket to the bulkhead..

6.... and remove the pedal.

7. To replace the pedal return spring, unhook its bent ends from the pedal arm and bracket.

8. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
