Removal and installation of the electric fan of the radiator of the engine cooling system, complete with casing

The electric radiator fan of the cooling system is removed to replace its electric motor.

You will need a flat blade screwdriver.

1. Remove the radiator of the cooling system (cm. «Replacing the cooling system radiator»).

NOTE: It is necessary to remove the radiator of the cooling system because, due to the layout of the engine compartment, when the radiator is installed on the car, it is impossible to remove the electric fan with the casing from it.

2. Press out with a screwdriver two spring clips of the electric fan casing in its lower part on the left and right..



3.... slide the shroud up the heatsink (of the four holders on the radiator tanks, all four brackets of the casing will simultaneously extend) …




4.... until all four brackets of the casing come out of the holders on the radiator..



5.... and remove the electric fan assembly with the casing.

6. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.

NOTE: Replacing the cooling system radiator fan motor is described in Sec. 10 «electrical equipment» (cm. «Removal and installation of the electric motor of the radiator fan of the engine cooling system»).
