The evaporative emission system adsorber is removed for inspection or replacement when a persistent smell of gasoline appears due to adsorber leaks. In addition, a violation of the tightness of the adsorber can cause unstable operation of the engine at idle until it stops.
The adsorber is mounted on the cross member of the rear suspension.
You will need: TORX T30 wrench, flat blade screwdriver.
1. Squeeze the tabs..
2.... and disconnect the fuel tank vent line from the canister..
3.... pipeline to the canister purge valve..
4.... and canister ventilation pipeline.
5. Turn out two screws of fastening of an adsorber to a suspension cross member.
NOTE: On some vehicles, the screws will rest against the underbody when loosening. In this case, the rear suspension cross member will have to be removed or loosened (see «Replacing the rear suspension cross member»).
6. Using a screwdriver, disengage the lower retainer of the adsorber housing from the flanging of the suspension cross member..
7.... and remove the adsorber.
8. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
