You will need: a mounting spatula or a thin chisel, a hammer.
1. Remove the right front wheel drive (cm. «Removal and installation of front wheel drives»).
2. With the mounting blade against the bearing outer ring, press the bearing off the intermediate shaft.
NOTE: The intermediate bearing is usually removed for replacement if damaged. In this case, additional damage to the bearing during pressing with force applied to the outer ring is not important. If this bearing is missing on a newly installed drive, it is more expedient to install a new bearing on it, rather than a bearing pressed from an old drive and having a reduced resource.
In the absence of a new bearing, it is allowed to remove it from the previous drive by blows through a thin chisel on the inner ring.
3. Have an assistant hold the shaft and press the bearing onto the shaft by hitting the inner race with a chisel or spudger.
USEFUL ADVICE: You can also press on the bearing of the intermediate support using a piece of pipe of a suitable diameter, at least 400 mm long. However, in this case, it will be necessary to disassemble the internal drive joint so that the shaft can be supported on a massive support.
