Withdrawal
1. Depress the brake pedal four or five times to eliminate the vacuum from the servo booster.
2. Remove the vacuum hose adapter from the servo rubber bushing. If it is difficult to pull it out, then pry it with a screwdriver under the flange (see fig. 17.2).
3. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the connection on the intake manifold. To do this, press the coupling sleeve to release the stoppers and slowly remove the sleeve.
4. If the hose or its fasteners are damaged or defective, the hose must be replaced.
Examination
5. Check the check valve for damage and replace if necessary. To check the valve, blow it through the hose in both directions. It should only allow air to flow in the direction from the servo to the intake manifold.
Installation
6. Installation - in the reverse order of removal. Install the check valve on the correct side.
