Caution: DO NOT attempt to remove the expansion tank cap while the engine is still warm, as you risk scalding yourself. Do not leave the coolant container open for a long time as it is poisonous.
Prevention
The closed cooling system does not require regular topping up of liquid. If you have to do this often, then there are leaks in the system. Check the radiator, all hoses and connections for signs of leaks. If a leak is found, fix it as soon as possible.
Use antifreeze all year round, not just in winter. Do not top up the cooling system with clean water, as this leads to excessive dilution of the antifreeze.
1. The coolant level depends on the engine temperature. With a cold engine, the fluid level should be between the marks "MAX"...
2....and "MIN", on the side wall of the tank. With a hot engine, the fluid level may be slightly above the mark "MAX".
3. If it is necessary to add coolant, wait until the engine has cooled down. Slightly unscrew the cap of the expansion tank counterclockwise so. to hear the steam coming out of the tank. After relieving excess pressure, turn the cap counterclockwise until it can be removed.
4. Add a mixture of antifreeze with water so that the level is between the marks. Install the cover and tighten it until it stops.
