General information about automatic transmission

            0

The CD4E automatic transmission is controlled by an electronic device of the engine management system. It has two modes (economical and sporty), as well as a top gear switch. When the driver presses this switch, fourth gear is not engaged in certain operating modes. When the economy mode is activated, the gearshift occurs at low engine speeds, and when the sport mode is activated, at high engine speeds.

The planetary gear and the main gear are interconnected by a chain. The transmission has a radiator for cooling the working fluid.

There is no downshift switch because the downshift device is controlled by the throttle position sensor in the engine management system.

The electronic control system has a safety mode that limits transmission functions but allows the vehicle to move to reach the garage.

The selector has positions P, R, N, D, 2 and 1. To remove the selector from position P., it is necessary that the ignition is on and the brake pedal is depressed (for security). When the battery is low, the selector solenoid does not function. If in this case you need to move the car, insert a pencil (or something similar) into the opening located on the left side of the center console. To move the selector, push the locked lever back.
