Removing and installing the selector assembly

Withdrawal

1. Remove the central console (chapter 11).

2. Set the parking brake, raise the front end and place it on stands.

3. Working under the vehicle, remove the heat shield to access the bottom of the selector lever assembly. Disconnect the cable from the bottom of the selector lever assembly.

4. Remove the nuts securing the selector cable plate to the bottom of the lever assembly.

5. Disconnect electrical connectors. Then pull the selector lever assembly into the inside of the vehicle. Remove the gasket.

6. If necessary, the selector lever and its position indicator can be removed from the top of the assembly by unscrewing the bolts.

Installation

7. Installation - in the reverse order of removal. Adjust selector cable (see paragraph 3).
