Pic. 259. Removing the anchor pins of the brake pads
- remove the small anchor pins from both brake pads, to do this, press the pin with your finger from below, press the spring collar inward and at the same time remove it from the inside, turning the pin head accordingly (pic. 259);
- use a screwdriver to lift the ends of both linings on the back side from their supports, while the rear springs are released and can be removed (remember where they were), pay attention not to fall out the piston of the wheel brake cylinder (to protect the cylinder from dirt, wrap a rubber band around it), when removing, do not damage the rubber cuffs;
- completely remove the pads, there is a clamping rod and a parking brake cable on the block, remove the cable from the lever, for which compress the spring to release the end of the cable.
Check the brake pads, if they are oily or damaged, replace the pads. The pads must be replaced if the pads are worn to a thickness of 1.5 mm. When ordering new brake pads, be sure to specify the exact model of your vehicle as brake systems may vary due to factory modifications.
