Replacing the rear parking brake cables

Replace the rear parking brake cables as follows:

- Raise the rear of the car on supports;

- remove the thermal insulation under the exhaust system (the middle part is fixed in the place shown in fig. 277, two other attachment points are located in front) and release the exhaust pipe from the attachment;

- hang the parking brake cable from the caliper, and if there is a drum brake mechanism, remove the brake pads and hang the cable, as described in the relevant section;

- release a cable from draft and fastening to a body and remove it.

Install in the reverse order of removal. At the same time, pay attention that the ends of the cables are correctly located in the balancer, and the outer bushings of the cables are shifted to the stop in the guides.
