Note: The steering fluid must be a Ford recommended fluid.
A low-pressure pump is usually used to bleed the steering hydraulic drive, however, air can also be removed using the method described below. Bleed the power steering as follows:

- unscrew the cover of the compensatory tank and fill it up to the mark «Max» on the outside with Ford prescribed fluid (pic. 243);
- start the engine and slowly turn the steering wheel all the way to the right and left, the assistant at this time should monitor that the fluid level in the compensation tank is constantly at the specified level;
- if the volume of liquid in the reservoir does not change any more, and there are no air bubbles in the liquid, this means that the steering hydraulic drive has been bled;
- stop the engine, then start it again for a few seconds, then stop it again and check the fluid level again, it should be between those shown in fig. 243 marks.
