Accumulator battery

Mondeo cars are equipped with batteries with a nominal voltage of 12 V, with six batteries. The battery is designed to supply electricity to the starter when starting the engine and other consumers when the generator is not running.

Warning: When the cable is disconnected from the battery, information from the memory of electronic storage devices is erased. Be sure to remember the activation code of the radio equipped with an anti-theft system, which you will have to enter again.

During operation, maintenance of the battery is not required, i.e. under normal operating conditions, it is not necessary to add additional distilled water to it. However, in some cases, the liquid level in it decreases.

Observe the following guidelines when using the battery:

- keep the battery and nearby parts constantly clean, the surface of the battery must be dry, otherwise self-discharge currents may appear between the individual battery cells and self-discharge of the battery is possible;

- the electrolyte level in the battery must always be at the lower mark, which is applied to the outside of the battery case (if the case is transparent), if necessary, use only distilled water for topping up;

- in cold weather, the battery must not be in a discharged state, otherwise it may defrost.
