Vehicle lifting

            0

The jack used to lift the vehicle must be suitable for the weight of the vehicle. Make sure the car jack is suitable, especially if it is being used for the first time. Before jacking up the car, check that there is nothing in the trunk. Often this is forgotten.

Pic. 12. Locations for car jack and supports

To prevent damage to the underside of the vehicle, the car jack, like the tripod supports, can only be installed in certain places. On fig. 12 shows the underside of the car with places to install a jack or a stationary workshop lift, as well as tripod supports. Their use is described in the vehicle's owner's manual. If a factory manual is not available, such as when buying a used car, the jacking locations are easy to find, as they are identical to the recesses in the lower body. Before lifting the vehicle, make sure the head of the vehicle jack is installed in a position where no parts of the vehicle can be crushed or bent.
