Cylinder head assembly

            0

Assemble the cylinder head in the following order:

- screw again (if taken out) hairpins. This time, wrench the top of the two nuts and tighten the studs. The threads in the cylinder head can be lubricated with a protective agent;

- clean the valves, valve seats, passages and sealing surfaces. Clean the inside surfaces of the valve guides by running a piece of a rag soaked in gasoline through the guides;

- Install the valve stem O-rings on the valves. The end of the valve must be wrapped with stanol paper (e.g. from a pack of cigarettes). Carefully slide the packing ring over the valve guide. When pressing the gland rings, the valves should rest against the cylinder head on the other side;

- insert the valves into the respective channels;

- Put on the valve springs, and install the upper plates of the springs on them. Compress the valve springs with the tool shown in fig. 73, or a similar valve puller so that the end of the rod protrudes from the spring plate. Insert both valve cotters with needle nose pliers and remove the valve puller. Check if the valve stems are seated well. For control, apply a sharp blow with a plastic hammer to the ends of the valve stems. Incorrectly installed crackers will pop out. For safety, put a rag on top;

- lubricate the hydraulic or bucket tappets (since May 1998) hypoid gear oil and insert them into the appropriate holes. Fully retract pushers. New pushers can be inserted arbitrarily;

- Reinstall all parts removed from the cylinder head. At the moment, only those parts that should be installed only after the installation of the cylinder head can be left.
