When replacing pistons, in most cases it is necessary to bore the cylinder block. After assembling the pistons with the connecting rods, the piston rings can be put on in turn using piston ring pliers. Piston ring locks must be oriented as follows:
- the upper rings should be half a turn away from the oil scraper ring lock;
- the middle rings must be turned a quarter of a turn relative to the oil scraper ring lock;
- oil scraper rings must be located in such a way that the locks are in line with the axis of the piston pin.
