3.1.1. Oil selection
The engine lubrication system is designed:
- for lubrication of engine components and assemblies. Creation of an oil film between friction surfaces (pistons and cylinders, main bearings, valve drives and other parts) ensures their minimum wear;
- elimination of gaps between the piston, piston rings and cylinder mirror;
- cooling of parts such as pistons, crankshaft bearings.
The lubrication system uses a rotary type oil pump driven by a crankshaft. The pump is attached directly to the front of the crankcase.

Oil nozzles are used to cool the pistons (pic. 86), located on the inside of the crankcase.
