Checking the sealing collars of the drive shafts
To check the shafts, do the following:
- Raise the front of the car and place it on supports;
- turn the wheel and check both rubber cuffs of the shaft for cracks;
- check the strength of the installation of the tape holders;
- check the presence of grease on the sealing collar.
Diagnosis of malfunctions of the wheel drive shafts
Noises that occur in the transmission indicate the following problems:
- rhythmic beating when pressing the clutch pedal (can change when turning the steering wheel) indicates a malfunction on the part of the corresponding wheel;
- if the steering wheel vibrates when the wheels are turned out, then the outer hinge is probably damaged;
- crackling during acceleration in turns indicates a malfunction in the wheel drive shaft.
