The order of these works on both sides is almost the same. The description for the left side is given as an example.
PROCEDURE |
- Dismantle, as described above, the front buffer cover and the corresponding headlights.
- Now securely place the front of the car on the stops, dismantle the corresponding wheel and..
- ... wheel arch lining (screws and clamps are indicated by arrows).

- Unscrew the two front - located behind the bumper cover - screws and..
- ... Disconnect the connector from the side direction indicators.
- Next, remove the soundproofing (screws are indicated by arrows).

- Unscrew the wing screws (arrows) on the front rack. Don't forget the top screw as well, it's not shown in the picture.

- Next unscrew the screws (arrows) on the wheel fender and pull it out of the grille holes.

- Before removing the fender, use a narrow spatula or sharp knife to carefully separate the contact surfaces to the body.
- Remove the fender and lower the car onto the wheels. Make sure your Mondeo is as flat as possible.
- Before mounting, varnish the new fender and protect it from rust on the inner folds and in the contact area inside the fender.
- Clean the contact surfaces at the front and protect the defective areas with primer and top coat. Give the varnish enough time to dry.
- Before installing the new wing, close the door and align the wing first with the door rebate.
- Insert all screws further and tighten them firmly in the wing rebate. Pre-clean the thread and lightly lubricate it. Check the door gap (4.0mm±1.0mm) and adjust if necessary.
- In the next step, from the middle to the edges, tighten the screws on the A-pillar. At the same time align the position of the wing.
- Do the same with the screws on the wheel arch (tighten from the middle outwards).
- After working with each screw, also check the gap with the engine hood (4.0mm±1.0mm).
- Finally, check all clearances and finally secure the wing.
- Carry out installation in reverse order.
