Removing the heating and ventilation control unit

Since in practice the presence of systems with manual temperature control in the passenger compartment prevails, the following is a description of the dismantling of the control unit for such systems.



PROCEDURE
  1. Disconnect the battery and remove the radio or audio system.
  2. Unscrew the middle screws from the protective lining and..
  3. …carefully pull out the switch boot (indicated by an arrow) from the center console.


    Pull out switch case (arrows) from the center console.
  4. Next, unscrew the bottom screws (indicated by arrows) from the protective cover and pull the decorative cover out of the console until the cable connector is not too tight.


    Remove bottom screws (arrows) from protective lining.
  5. Before pulling the switch out of the decorative cover, first insert a piece of cloth between the screwdriver and the cover. Then wring out the switch and disconnect a multicontact socket.


    Insert a piece of cloth between the screwdriver and the cover, and only then wring out the switch.
  6. Now unscrew the top screws (indicated by arrows) from protective lining and..

  7. …disconnect the plug (indicated by an arrow) from the heater/air conditioner control unit.


    Disconnect the plug (arrows) from the control unit.
  8. Next unscrew the four screws (indicated by arrows) and pull the control unit out of the niche.


    unscrew the screws (arrows) and pull the control unit out of the niche.
  9. Carry out installation in reverse order.
