From time to time, you should check the microclimate in the cabin of your Mondeo. Dust particles, road grime, insects or fallen autumn leaves can finally clog the air passages and the pollen filter. Therefore, when driving on unsuitable roads, observe the following points:
- Turn the heater control at the engine operating temperature to the stop - is now evenly warm air coming out?
- Fully close the heater control. After a few kilometers, only cold air can come out of the nozzles, otherwise do not close the air damper tightly again.
- Does the up and down air distribution function?
- Does air come out evenly from all holes?
- Is the circulating air regulator functioning?
- Is the fan running on all stages?
Controls
In the Mondeo with manual temperature control, the heating and air conditioning systems are controlled by three rotary switches located in the center console. The temperature, air distribution flaps and heater nozzles are controlled by a special control unit by means of electronic actuators. The air recirculation valve actuator is activated by a separate pushbutton. The Mondeo with automatic temperature control (option) the current control mode and the current interior temperature are shown on the digital display. Controlled by two cabin temperature switches, two fan switches and four airflow control switches. The AC switch and the air recirculation switch are pushbutton switches located in the decorative cover of the heater/air conditioner control unit.
