Checking the brake fluid level

            0

Your Mondeo has three warning lights on the instrument panel related to the brake system, which usually remain dark while driving. If the opposite happened - a system failure appeared - in the most harmless version, this is an indication that you forgot to release the parking brake. If not, then first check the brake fluid level in the compensation tank, it is located under the engine hood on the main brake cylinder on the left in the direction of travel. If the lights flash from time to time while driving, it can be concluded that there is no brake fluid and one brake circuit is already «is on strike». The second circuit is usually still able to function, so you have enough time to drive slowly to the nearest workshop. Our advice: do not trust such an important safety component as the brake, no «automation» - look after him from time to time better yourself.

Everything in view: brake warning lights.

1 - ABS,
2 — ESP/TCS,
3 - Parking brake, brake fluid, EBD function.

PROCEDURE
  1. The brake fluid reservoir is located at the level of the front wall under the engine hood on the left relative to the direction of travel. Check the brake fluid level regularly.
  2. Even with a good brake system, the fluid level drops. Reason: analogy with brake pad wear when the pistons «pushed out» it from the disc brake calipers. The large cylindrical volume behind the piston compensates for the leaked brake fluid.
  3. If the brake fluid in the reservoir «fluctuates between marks «MIN» And «MAX», the function of both brake circuits is guaranteed.
