Air pressure is best checked on cold tires

            0

The air pressure should always be measured only when the tires are cold, as the tire heats up during driving and the tire pressure increases. Consequence: therefore, incorrect values can be obtained - according to experience, it is as if you always drive with less air pressure in the tires. Check your tire pressure regularly every three or four weeks, a monthly pressure loss of 1.5% is normal. If more air comes out of the tire, then it is necessary to carefully examine it: most often «excitement is happening» at the bottom of the surface.

Don't forget to screw on the safety cap

After each pressure measurement, the tire valves must always be closed with safety caps. If dirt does get into the valve, then it may turn out to be leaky - the tires constantly lose air. And this can lead to trouble. Never drive with low air pressure in the tires - as a result, the temperature of the tires rises beyond measure. Sooner or later it will surely lead to phenomena «decay» or tire wear. On the contrary, a pressure increase of 0.2-0.3 bar is seen as a positive fact: the steering is more responsive, the tires last longer and even fuel consumption is slightly reduced. Disadvantage: the car does not bounce as comfortably.
