Checking the brake light switch

If all three brake lights are not functioning, the brake light switch is not trustworthy. It is located in the passenger compartment directly on the brake pedal bearing bracket. Pressing the brake pedal push pin «moves» out of the switch housing. The contacts in the switch close and current then flows to the brake lights. The switch is checked quite simply: disconnect the cable plug and connect «naked» ends. If the lights are on, replace the switch.
