Headlight adjustment «in front of the wall»

If you want to decently and quickly adjust the light, then find, if possible, a dark wall as a screen and do the following:

PROCEDURE

Fill up your Mondeo completely or put about 30 kg of excess weight in the trunk - with the tank about half full. Sit an assistant in the driver's seat or alternatively place 75 kg of weight in the right footwell. Check that the prescribed tire pressures are present. «park» your car exactly five meters from a dark background (walls). Do it fast: transfer «light points» on the wall. Measure the distance between the ground and the centers of both headlights. Transfer these dimensions to the wall and connect the points with the line S1. Five centimeters below, draw a parallel line E on the wall. It characterizes the inclination of the low beam at a distance of five meters. Look through the rear window and ask your assistant «draw» from the center of the car perpendicular line M. Now measure the distance between the car and the headlight center points (right and left). Transfer these values to the auxiliary line S1 (to the right and left of the intersection point of both lines M and S1) and mark them with adjustment crosses S2. Exactly five centimeters below these crosses, adjust the dipped beam breakpoints on the adjustment line. If your Mondeo has fog lights, do the same with them. Build an auxiliary line with adjustment crosses (fog light centers). Headlight adjustment screws «find» under the engine hood on top of both headlights. The inner screw 1 adjusts the position of the reflector in the vertical direction, while the outer screw 2, on the contrary, in the horizontal direction. Under the engine hood are the headlight adjustment screws. Turn on your headlights and... ... turn the vertical adjusting screw 1 until the horizontal cut-off of the low beam is aligned with the adjusting line. Then turn the side adjusting screw 2 on the inside of the fog lamp until the break point in the dipped beam pattern coincides with the adjusting cross. «Scattering share» 15% may be above the line. After this adjustment, automatically «getting right» and distant light.
