If your coolant hose breaks while driving the Mondeo, first seal the leak with temporary adhesive tape. To be on the safe side, slightly unscrew the sealing cap of the expansion tank: no operating pressure is generated, so that the area where the tape is patched can «hold out» until the final renovation. While driving, constantly pay attention to the engine temperature indicator and in no case bring it to the limit value. Purchase only genuine hoses as spare parts, as they are guaranteed to fit and do not harden immediately after a short time. Mounting hose clamps should be carefully examined - replace corroded clamps immediately.

PROCEDURE |
- Drain the coolant into a clean container installed.
- Loosen the hose clamps, disconnect the hoses.
- Loosen firmly seated hose ends with a screwdriver. To do this, insert the tool between the hose and the socket and carefully wring it out of the corresponding connecting socket.
- Lubricate the new hoses with petroleum jelly and properly fit on the nozzle so that they cannot slip during the ride.
Act decisively: Clamps 1 and 2 on the water and fuel hoses. If you are replacing old radiator or fuel hoses, or have removed the stock clamps, you can use threaded clamps to mount new hoses 3. Threaded clamps squeeze the hoses over a larger surface, and you can also better assign their degree of clamping. |
