Removal and installation of a forward seat belt

NOTE: Replacing the front seat belts is shown using the driver's seat belt as an example. The front passenger seat belt is replaced in the same way.

You will need a TORX T50 key.

1. Seat belts are equipped with pretensioners, so disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

WARNING: After disconnecting the wire from the "minus" terminal of the battery, you must wait at least 10-15 minutes, only after that you can proceed to remove the seat belt equipped with a pretensioner.

WARNING: Do not disassemble inertia reels with belt tensioners.

WARNING: Inertia coils with pretensioners must not fall down and be exposed to water and oil.

WARNING: Belt pretensioners must not be exposed to temperatures above 95°C.

2. Turn out the screw of the bottom fastening of a seat belt.

NOTE: There is a spacer on the screw, do not lose it.

3. Remove the top and bottom facings of the central rack (see Removing and installing interior linings).



4. Having unscrewed the screws securing the air duct, remove it.



5. Loosen the upper belt mounting screw and disconnect the belt buckle from the belt height adjuster housing.

NOTE: There is a flat washer on the screw, do not lose it.

6. If necessary, unscrew the two screws securing the cage of the belt height adjustment unit..




7….remove it…



8.... and the holder for the upper trim of the rack.



9. Sliding the hook of the belt guide with a screwdriver..



10….remove the rail from the rack.




11. Remove the screw securing the inertial coil with a belt pretensioner built into it..



12.... and remove the coil through the technological hole in the body pillar.



13. Squeezing the clamps of the pretensioner harness block, disconnect it from the inertial coil connector..




14….and remove the coil and seat belt.

15. To remove the front seat belt buckle, you must remove the seat from the car (see Removing and installing front seat), since with the seat installed, it is inconvenient to unscrew the lock fastening screw.



16. Install the seat belt and removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
