You will need: socket head "13", pliers with thin jaws, a screwdriver with a thin blade.
NOTE: For clarity, operation is shown with the instrument panel and steering column bracket removed.
1. Using a screwdriver, depress the retainer of the wiring harness block of the speed control switch (Cruise control) …
2….disconnect the block from the switch.
3. Pressing the brake light switch harness block latch..
4.... disconnect the block from the switch.
NOTE: If the brake pedal is being removed for replacement, the cruise control and brake light switches will need to be reset to the new pedal. For convenience, it is better to remove them directly on the car.
To remove the cruise control switch, turn it counterclockwise..
... and remove from the pedal bracket.
Remove the brake light switch in the same way by turning it clockwise.
5. Remove the accelerator pedal from the brake pedal bracket (refer to Removing and Installing the Throttle Pedal).
6. Turn away five nuts of fastening of an arm of a pedal of a brake to a bulkhead panel and take a plait of wires from two holders on an arm (shown in the photo by arrows).
This is how the nuts for attaching the brake pedal bracket to the bulkhead are located. The vacuum brake booster is simultaneously attached to the bulkhead with four lower nuts.
7. Squeeze with pliers two clamps of the finger of the pusher fork of the vacuum brake booster..
NOTE: Only one retainer is visible in the photo. The second latch is located on the opposite side of the finger.
8….remove your finger from the fork and pedal holes…
9….and remove the brake pedal.
10. Install the brake pedal and removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
