Replacing the front suspension arm

            0

You will need: wrenches "for 15", "for 18", a ball joint puller.

1. Brake the vehicle with the parking brake and set the wheel chocks ("shoes") under the rear wheels. Raise the front of the vehicle with a jack and place it on stands. Remove the wheel.

WARNING: Loosen and tighten the wheel nuts only with the vehicle on the ground.

2. Turn away a nut of fastening of a finger of a spherical joint and press out a finger (see Ball joint replacement).

3. Turn out a bolt of forward fastening of the lever and take it.

4. Turn out two bolts of fastening of a back support of the lever and take bolts.

5. Remove the lever assembly with ball joint.

NOTE: Since the original front suspension arms are supplied as spare parts complete with a ball joint and silent blocks, further disassembly of the arm does not make sense.

6. Establish details in an order, the return to removal, without tightening finally fastenings of rubber-metal hinges of the lever.

7. After lowering the vehicle to the ground, rock it hard several times. Finally tighten the suspension bolts with the vehicle on the ground to the torque specified in appendix 1.

NOTE: After replacing the front ball joint, check and adjust the wheel alignment if necessary (see Checking and Adjusting Wheel Alignment).
