Removal and installation of a cross-beam of a back suspension bracket

It is more convenient to remove the rear suspension cross member on a lift. If it is not possible to put the car on a lift, raise the rear of the car.

USEFUL ADVICE: It is necessary to remove the rear suspension cross member with assistants who will hold and lower it.


You will need a socket head "15".

1. Remove rear wheels.

2. Remove the rear suspension spring (refer to Rear Suspension Spring Replacement).

3. Remove both rear brake hoses (refer to Brake Hoses Replacement).

4. Disconnect the parking brake cables from the trailing arms (refer to Replacing the Rear Parking Brake Cables).

5. Disconnect from holders on the lever a plait of wires of the gauge of frequency of rotation of a wheel (refer to Removing and installing rear wheel speed sensors).



6. Pry off with a screwdriver and remove the suspension cushion of the exhaust system from the rear suspension cross member bracket.



7. Compress clamps and disconnect pipelines from an adsorber of system of catching vapors of fuel.


8. Install hydraulic struts under the cross member.



9. Turn out on two bolts of fastening to a body of arms of trailing arms of a back suspension bracket.



10. Turn out on three bolts of fastening of a crossbeam to a body on both parties of the car and remove a crossbeam of a back suspension bracket, having lowered it on racks.

11. Install the rear suspension cross member in the reverse order of removal. Finally tighten the cross member bolt nuts with the vehicle on the ground.

12. After installing the cross member, bleed the brake system (see Bleeding the hydraulic brake system) and if necessary, adjust the parking brake actuator (refer to Parking Brake Actuator Adjustment).
