NOTE: Steering column assembly can be removed with or without ignition switch (depending on the purpose of removing the steering column). This subsection describes the removal of the steering column without removing the ignition switch.
You will need: a key "for 10", socket heads "for 10", "for 13", an extension cord.
1. Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the storage battery.
2. Remove the steering column cover (see Removing and installing steering column cover).
3. Remove the steering wheel (see Steering wheel removal and installation), having previously set it to a position corresponding to rectilinear movement.
4. Remove the steering column switches assembly with the connector (see Replacing Paddles).
5. Remove the instrument cluster (see Removing and installing instrument cluster).
6. Remove the decorative trim at the bottom of the instrument panel on the driver's side (see Removing and installing instrument panel).
7. Take aside from a steering column plaits of wires.
8. Turn out a bolt of terminal connection of an intermediate shaft with a shaft of the steering mechanism.
9. Unscrew the two bottom..
10.... and two upper steering column mounting bolts.
11. Remove the steering column with the ignition switch by disengaging the intermediate shaft and the steering gear shaft.
NOTE: For clarity, the removal of the steering column is shown with the instrument panel removed.
Replacement of an arm of a steering column is described in subsection Removal and installation of the panel of devices.
12. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
