Removal of the rear mounting block located in the luggage compartment is described in this subsection. The mounting block located in the engine compartment does not have common wiring harness blocks - each wire is inserted into a separate socket at the base of the block. Due to the large number of wires connected to this unit, and the need to have a special wire layout map, remove and install the mounting block located in the engine compartment at a specialized service station. The rear mounting block, located in the luggage compartment, has the same switching method, but it has significantly fewer connected wires, therefore, with sufficient skill and care, it can be replaced on its own. The central mounting block, located under the instrument panel, is made in one piece with the multifunctional electronic unit (GEM) and for its repair or replacement it is necessary to remove the unit, see Removing and installing the multifunctional electronic unit (gem).
To remove the rear mounting block, do the following.
You will need a socket head "10".
1. Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the storage battery.
2. Remove the manhole cover in the side trim (
see Location of fuses, fuse links and relays and their replacement).
3. Turn off two nuts of fastening of an arm of blocks to a sidewall (not visible in the photo, their locations are shown by dotted arrows) …
4.... and move the blocks away from the sidewall.
5. To remove the replaceable mounting block, depress the two latches that secure it to the bracket, located on the sides, and disconnect the block from the bracket. Disconnecting the wires one by one from the mounting block, write down their location in its sockets and remove the block.
6. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
