General information about the car body

            0

The body of FORD MONDEO cars is a self-supporting structure. The bottom, side parts and roof are welded to each other. Major body repairs can only be carried out in special workshops.

The engine hood, trunk lid and doors are bolted on and can be easily replaced. During installation, it is necessary to set the correct size of the air gap (= width of the gap between the corresponding detachable body part and the body), otherwise, for example, the door may rattle, during movement there may be increased noise of the oncoming air flow. The distance between the moving parts of the body and the body must be uniform along the entire length. A deviation of no more than 1 mm is permissible.

Body work safety

When carrying out welding or other spark-producing work near the battery, it must be removed.

Attention! By removing the terminals from the battery, they are destroyed "operating parameters" in the electronic storage of the engine control unit and the installed anti-theft radio code in the electronic storage of the radio code.

When carrying out painting work, the temperature in the drying chamber or in the heating zone should not exceed 80°. Otherwise, there is a risk of damage to electronic devices.
